So if you’re reading this, it is Sunday morning, the weekend after I did my first Bridal show. Less than a week before the show I decided to get Avenue16 involved and the next thing I knew I was building a booth with my handy dandy tool man, otherwise known as “Dad”. What would I do without him? Seriously though, without the help of my Dad, my Mom, and my Fiancé, this past weekend wouldn’t not have been possible. So to start this post off, I wanted to give them a big shout out and a big thank you. Your support means everything.
Okay, moving onto the good stuff. This past weekend I spent my time at The Wedding Odyssey Bridal Show held at the Ciocaro Club, in Windsor, Ontario. I attended this show as a Bride-to-Be last year. This year I stand on the other side of the table as a vendor. I’ve been taking my time building Avenue16 up as I still work full time as a Graphic Designer. So I work 8 hours a day there, come home and continue to work. I can’t even call it work because I love what I do.
I got to meet so many brides from the Windsor and surrounding area. I’m “new” to the scene, but that doesn’t mean I lack experience. I had so much fun, hearing about all your wedding plans, and listening to your stories, and connecting with many of you. So much so, I met a bride who shares my first name (Brittany), and her last name is my mother’s first name, and her family is also from the east coast, what are the chances?
The fun and excitement of my first show has spilled into the week. My goal for the weekend was simply to get my name out there. It wasn’t about securing bookings. The aftermath of the weekend has been keeping me busy late into the nights. Playing catch up.
My house is still a mess, I haven’t had a moment to unpack and put things away, heck my Christmas tree is still up.The behind the scene work beings as I began returning emails from brides, sending out emails, and finishing up designs for Save the Dates. I need more hours in the day.
Have a peek below. I’ve added some images of the beginning of setting up the custom wall my father and I built to the finished product. Oh and a new head-shot courtesy of my good friend Caitlin Bell, she also shot my Engagement Photos at Sprucewood Estate Winery.
Many of you are at “The Big One” this weekend at the Caboto Club. It is huge and so much fun. I’ll be attending as a Bride this year, 9 months until I say “I Do”. I hope you all had fun at both shows! Happy planning!
